Hit shuffle on your iPod or whatever.
Pick a lyric from the first 15-20 songs that come up.
Have your friends guess, and NO CHEATING, YOU CHEATY CHEATERS.

#1 'Cause lately - could you tell? - I lost the only one - could you tell?
#2 Pretending someone else can come and save me from myself
#3 Look to the stars // Let hope burn in your eyes // And we'll love and we'll hate and we'll die
#4 I’m medicated, how are you? // Let’s take a dive, swim right through // Sophisticated points of view [wow, that totally fits Thursday, in some kind of way XD]
#5 Everything dies nothing to worry about // Everything goes on goes on goes on

#6 Fuck this hurts, I won't lie // Doesn't matter how hard I try
#7 But I won't heed the battle call // It puts my back up // Puts my back up against the wall
#8 Yes on her own she is afraid // She wonders if she'll ever make the grade
#9 Oh this dream // I've been dreaming I left you // Count me out // From this doubt
#10 You went back to what you knew // So far removed from all that we went through

#11 Look girl don't check on your watch not another glance
#12 Time it was and what a time it was, a time of innocence
#13 Well I've seen you suffer, I've seen you cry for days and days
#14 I'm not enough to bring you down // I'm not enough to make you happy // I'm not enough to make you stay
#15 Well its hard to be strong // When there's no one to dream on

#16 I know well what lies beyond my sleeping refuge
#17 There's a cold connective heat, struggling, stretching for defeat // Never stopping with her head against the wind
#18 I know how easy it is to let go // Surrender to despair lurking at your door
#19 Pa said there must be a mistake // how can my son not be straight // after all I've said and done for him
#20 Where this story goes is written in the dark // Living off the luck and reaching out too far

I've taken all my guts and planned to confront my fears and my failures and it might even work.

More about all that when I'm back home... see you then! (read: expect massive spamming on my behalf)

Which Torchwood Character Are You?
Your Result: Ianto Jones

You most resemble the team's composed, sarcastic general support. Passionate but excellent at hiding it under a reserved exterior, you care deeply about people and have a hard time letting go. The downside of keeping such a tight leash on your external emotions is that sometimes you lose control and have to let it all out. Competent and hard-working, you like to be on top of things.

Got that since I hit my knee Sunday morning and now I'm limping along, have problems with stairs but over all I'm quite happy that it isn't a haematoma in the joint itself.

Hurts and I spent another 2h in the ER, but now I got meds, cream and bandages to content myself with...

I was just reading a nice story when something totally made me snap out of it:
Bessa had the look of an air spirit, transformed out of her clothing from gangly, pale and too thin to elegant, lithe and otherworldly. Her skin was translucent, dusted with light freckles like gold dust in places, and at her pulse points the fine blue lines of her veins were visible beneath the skin.

Veins. Don't. Have. Pulse. Thankyouverymuch!

There was a time when they were debating draft for women and I said that I'd never join the military... *haha*

Das Bambi saß, so will's der Reim,
in seinem Büro und wollte heim.
Es ging auch schon so gegen sieben,
doch heute wird Klausur geschrieben!
Strafe ist's, Rache muss sein. :P

Okay, sehr schlecht. XD

Honestly? Too many. There would be a lot of Chris de Burgh and the whole of Rod Stewart's "Vagabound Heart" album. The crazy thing? I used to listen to them when I was just a toddler and I didn't know any English - yet today I totally know them by heart and finally understand them.

I found myself shopping for food today and I had an idea what I wanted to cook and the recipe turned out way better than I had expected. Oo

So I'm gonna share:
(note, recipe might be subject to changes - especially in the spice section)

Ingredients (per person/small portion):
100-150g of pasta, uncooked
1 upper thigh or small breast of a chicken with skin, boneless
1 shallot or tiny, mild onion
2-3 artichoke hearts
6-10 green olives, without stone and without pimento (those belong in Martinis!)
salt, pepper, (garlic) oil, green pesto, paprika 'n other spices you like

1. Bring some water to boil with a lot of salt for the pasta. Preheat oven to about 180°C.
2. Remove whatever bones might be left on the chicken, also take care to remove sinews and cartilage - unless you like the crunchy'n'chewy stuff. Season the chicken with pepper, salt and paprika (and some other herbs you can think of - parsley sage, rosemary, thyme... whatever floats your boat).
3. Chop shallot in fine rings, cut olives in not so fine rings and halve the artichoke hearts. I had halved artichoke hearts already and thus ultimately quartered them.
4. Heat a frying pan and put in the chicken, skin down. Take the heat down and fry until the skin is nice and crunchy, turn around and add shallot.
5. In the mean time, grease up a baking tray with the oil, put the artichoke hearts on and lightly season with the pesto. Add the olive rings, the chicken with the skin side up and shallots.
6. Put in the oven for about 12min.
7. Drain pasta, arrange on a plate. Mix with slightly roasted artichokes, shallots and olives. Cut chicken into slices and put on top.

Took me about 20 minutes cooking time, maybe another 10-15 to prepare the chicken. If you take chicken breasts (usually boneless anyway and very little sinews and cartilage) you'll be under half an hour for sure. They just didn't have any chicken breast with skin and I so wanted crispy chicken skin today. <3

I'll probably make some Baileys Lattes again tonight (hot milk with cold Baileys Coffee) and just relax. Maybe I'll finally read "Exit Music"...
