Well. I'm most likely being accept at the university in [Würzburg]. Now, not that I would be ungrateful if I get a place at university there, but...
"You know, of course you'll be getting child allowance and half of what your father pays and a bit from me, but you might have to work. I think it would be easier for you later if you could do without [BAföG]. You wouldn't have to repay..." - my Mum
Fact 1 is, child allowance is 154€. Half of what my father pays (because that is far less than he would have to pay) is probably not more. If my Mum adds about the same I have little more than a temporarily employed gets (450 vs. 400).
Fact 2 is that living in Würzburg is not as cheap as Mum predicted. The cheapest I saw was 250€. Add 633€ per semester from the university. That makes already ca 360€ per month. I did not mention books, clothes or food yet... (nor did I mention internet)
Fact 3 is that I will probably still care a lot about not having to pay back BAföG when I fail over and over again because I have to work all the time to support myself.
Fact 4 would be that if I get a place at home I would be stuck here for the next six years. Great fucking prospects for my life. Be a poor student in a different town or be the same poor idiot at home.

Anyone see the problem there? And how I probably will have a tiny problem to afford the flight to England for Hamlet next year?
